The Exotic Spanish - Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz Sanchez or better known as Penelope Cruz, and she was born in Alcobendas, the Community of Madrid, Spain on April 28 1974. She first appeared in a music video of La fuerza del destino, a Spanish group Mecano.


Subsequently, she played in two major film such as Jamón, jamón and Belle Époque which led her won Academy Award for Foreign Language Film. Entering millennium era, in 2001, she appeared with Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky.After that she went back to Europe in 2004, she starred in a film Don't move.


Jump to 2006. Cruz alongside with Salma Hayek played in Bandidas and Volver with Pedro Almodovar. As a result, she was nominated for the Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild Award, BAFTA Award and the Academy Award for best actress in a leading role. Two years later, in 2008, she landed on Isabel Coixet's film Elegy partnered with Sir Ben Kingsley. In the same year, she landed on Vicky Cristina Barcelona as Maria Elena. Her performance in the film brought her to be secondly nominated in Academy Awards and won for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2009, Penelope Cruz voiced in Broken Embraces collaborated with Pedro Almodovar. It was such an honor for her took part in film version of Nine with Oscar winners such as Sophia Loren, Judi Dench, Daniel Day- Lewis, Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard. Surprisingly, she got nominated for her third Academy Awards nomination in 2010 for her role. Current report informed that she will role on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean.
